USTPA Membership Season Runs from January 1 through December 31. Memberships are not subject to cancellation. No refunds will be given.

How USTPA Currently Serves Its Member

Four categories of membership are offered by the USTPA and include Competitor or Affiliate members and Affiliate Association or Producer. Competitor members, as the name would suggest, are those who are eligible to compete in USTPA sanctioned events and qualify for its National Finals. Affiliate members are eligible to receive all membership benefits but are not eligible to compete in USTPA sanctioned events, although they can easily upgrade to Competitor status. All members will receive an embossed card bearing their name, member number and member classification. Affiliate associations and producers, on the other hand, receive additional benefits to enable them to provide better customer service and benefits to their members or competitors.

Of those events managed by USTPA Productions, a division of USTPA, more than $1.2 million in cash and prizes is offered annually to USTPA members. The USTPA National Finals, to be held in November in Amarillo, Texas, will offer an estimated $60,000 added money with a total estimated cash purse of $500,000, along with a plethora of sponsors and prizes during the event.

Promotion and competition! - As a competitive member of the USTPA, you are eligible to compete at all USTPA sanctioned Penning and Sorting events. Competitors who participate in regional events may qualify for year-end awards, regional finals and national finals. Most USTPA sanctioned events are promoted either by the USTPA or one of its qualified promoters. All USTPA sanctioned events are extremely well run shows and most offer contestants the opportunity to compete for jackpots, added money and special award prizes.

Key metrics for performance ratings, material rules and judging criteria, optimal arena conditions for both competitors and cattle as well as major trends and activities within the sports are all components of the USTPA's commitment to lead the sports evolution.
